Dr Matt Provencher here, Jimmy Garoppolo, Lamar Jackson, and Julio Jones. These were just some of the names I'm going to cover in this week's injury. Recap. Yes, Forty Niners fans, Jimmy Garoppolo went down to the high ankle sprain. We predicted he would be out about 1.8 games. The good news is that he practiced this week and was even a full participant in Friday's practice, which means that we'll likely see Jimmy G out on the field this weekend, although he's gonna be a full participant. Our data would suggest that, although in those two games you may not be at his same level when we predict approximately a 15 to 20% decline in his overall production, or about three fantasy points in what he usually gets, it's great to see you back on the field, Jimmy, an excellent quarterback. Lamar Jackson, Ravens fans. I'm sure you were a little bit nervous. He didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday as It seemed as though he was dealing with a minor knee strain or a minor knee issue, but also had listed in some sort of a stomach bug or flu. The great news is, is he practiced on Friday was a full participant, and I think we'll see him this week as a full participant and player. Do we expect him to be in his best level in the usual way that we love to see out there on the field? I actually think so, given that this is a pretty minor injury. I don't see any decline from our metrics based on his performance in the past, and I think you'll have a very solid game this weekend. Kareem Hunt in Cleveland is now battling off and on with a groin injury that he actually had surgery on back last season, August 2019. He missed about 10 games last year but did come back and have a very good the end of last season. And so far he's had a great start to the 2020 season. Although he was a partial participant in practice this week, he is a full participant Friday and I think he's gonna play this weekend. However, I don't think he's going to be the same Kareem Hunt and based on our data, I see approximately a 35% decline in his overall snaps and his overall productivity this weekend. So Kareem has been dealing off and on with this growing for quite some time. And although we see Kareem playing, we don't think he's going to be at his best. And honestly, sometimes rest is the best and maybe not playing this weekend. Maybe in his best interest, Although I do think we'll see some playing time with Kareem. We want to wish you good luck and get it back on the field and getting better from this groin injury. So let's talk wide receivers Julio Jones from the Atlanta Falcons. He's been dealing with a groin injury off and on the 2020 season, but this goes back even further for Julio, almost a 2011, where he's actually missed. Sometimes since then, off and on through his NFL career. He had a good start to this season when is able to compete at a high level and our usual Julio Jones excellence. But the last few games, including Game three, he didn't play Game four at Green Bay. He had limited time and he did not practice. This week he's officially listed as questionable on the Falcons injury report, so I'd be surprised if we see Julio out on the field this weekend. However, if we do, I think his overall performance will be significantly limited given his nagging hamstring issues. When will we see Julio Jones back? I think about week seven. I think then he'll be back at a high level performance and the usual Julio Jones that we love to watch their out on the field. Julio, good luck with your recovery in terms of recovery time. You can certainly expect many of these players to miss several games. On average, it's anywhere from 1.822 point seven games, depending on your position. But what does it look like when you come back? I can tell you the hamstring injury is a tough one because your production goes down even when you return. On average for offensive players, they'll lose approximately three fantasy points from what they had prior or anywhere from a 25 to 35% decline over the next 3 to 4 games. The hamstring injuries can be nagging, they can persist and it can continue to give problems. Even when you come back to play, so that's it for the week four injury recap. We'll see you tomorrow.
